Why care

This little piece of information comes as an addition to Lizards' blog on Statistics.

The story

According to some dating services love grows out of mathematical algorithms; as such, they are increasing the use of scientific methods in the matching services.
Ruth Alexander, a reporter of BBC 4 Radio, explains that the system operates through the answers of a set of simple questions. The questions provided seem to be a simple gathering of everyday issues in the life of love, romance and intimate relations.

"The majority of questions represent statements commonly heard by therapists in couples counselling," says True.com psychologist, Dr Garth Bellah.

The website then uses statistics formulas to find a match between certain characteristics of yours and the ‘love’ history of your counterpart…

I think it is irrelevant to find out if this system works or not. I believe, though, this method is given another excuse to the masses to search for what we are capable to do the best: Love one another!

Surely we would then be able to work out how to fall in love. maybe even avoid ever being sad. its got to be impossible!
