What it's all about

These workshops set out to inform children about the importance of healthy eating as well as familiarise them with foods they may not have encountered. They will also get an opportunity to plant seeds and watch them grow into vegetables to gain a grater understanding of where their food comes from. This project was inspired by Jamie Oliver's school dinners.

What's being done

The Involve Student Committee is running a series of workshops about healthy eating, cooking and looking after plants. The workshops will cover cooking and taste testing, exploring food through art and design and planting.

How it started

The day is for 50 primary children and we need at least 10 volunteers to help with the general order of the day.
we also need materials to make the day fun and engaging such as exotic fruits and vegetables, air dried clay, paints, other craft materials, seeds, compost and small plant pots
