I have been a voluntary festival organiser/stage coordinator/manager fundraiser for over 30 years. Is there a training course or certification that would help me to formalise my position in the festival area.
I currently stage coordinate at the Acoustic Festival of Great Britian, Rocknroots, assist at Strawberry Fair, Sunrise Spectacular, Togfest, Folk on the Green and the Cambridge Rock Festival.
I was Security certificated at National level having trained at Wembley many years ago, but I'm now medically unfit to retrain/update that qualification, but as I've worked backstage and in the field for so long I should be able to quantify my experience. Currently I am a full time carer for a disabled person, so I am on income support, so training must be either easy to fund or subsidised......
Can you help ???

Can we help...I'm afraid the answer is not really! It's great to hear you've been volunteering...and Junction49 is all about volunteering and positive social action...

We can help put you in contact with other volunteering opportunities...but qualifications in subjects like event management aren't really our forte!

Lots of colleges and universities do provide grants for students who are in need of help with fees

Here are a few courses: http://www.uk-open-learning.com/CartV3/results1.asp?Category=39

Why not also check out OxJam , one of Junction49's partners.

    Good luck!
