What it's all about

The project that I am currently working on is the refurbishment of the canteen area within the Nacro Organisation in Luton. I hope to use my design ideas, including my geometry mural designs, to create a more attractive, inspirational and stimulating environment for the clientele.

Nacro is a voluntary Organisation endeavouring to make a safer society by finding practical solutions to reducing crime and discrimination. Since 1966 Nacro has worked to give ex-offenders, disadvantaged people and deprived communities the help they need to build a better future.
Further information can be obtained from Nacro's website: Click here to read the original link

What's needed to make it a reality

Need companies or someone to sponsor this project financially for materials, like for example, canteen furniture, paints, brushes, etc.

My email is ruth.wooster@virgin.net

    Welcome to Junction49 Smile

At the moment Junction49 is offering the chance to win funding check it out here and post up anything you think is relevant to the criteria as a comment as a comment on your idea.

Since your project is based within an organisation unfortunately it's not eligible for grants from many organisations as they are only offered to projects that are entirely new. If I were you I would approach small local businesses for funding - in return for publicity about the fact that they've sponsored you to do this!

Another option is to approach your local YouthBank - there is one in Luton:

    Lynnis Abbey
    Youth Office
    Lucy Community Centre
    Landrace Road
    Luton
    LU4 0SW
    01582 608175
    Lynnis.Abbey@luton.gov.uk

Good luck! And when you're successful please do come back to Junction49 and let everyone know how you did it so they can learn from your experience Very Happy

I have some good news for you - our judges have discussed your idea in relation to each of our criteria and have decided that we can award you some Junction49 funds to turn your idea into reality!

One slight hitch - Junction49 is for young people aged 16-25 so you'll need to get at least one person in this age range involved in this project to help in the planning and actual refurbishment - will this be possible?

After that your next step is to decide on your budget and post it up here on Junction49 or email it to help@junction49.co.uk. We are able to fund £300, but could possibly provide more if you can justify it in your budget breakdown.

Please can you also email a contact phone number (in fact ideally a mobile and landline) to help@junction49.co.uk.

Please let us know as soon as possible about the involvement of people aged 16-25!

    Thanks,

    Zoë
