What it's all about

I have recently noticed that many elderly people live on the outskirts of towns (not always through choice). As we know the elderly don't have all that much money so is it fair that they have to use there money to get into towns and cities for their shopping or to go see a doctor. I realise that there are some other methods but I feel something else must be done.

What's needed to make it a reality

To get started we need volunteers to drive and Vehicles.

This is a problem which is going to be affecting more and more people as the number of pensioners in the UK increases year by year!

Here are some things for you to think about/have a look into:
    - do you know what is available in your area already for elderly people?are there any schemes elsewhere that you've heard about that you like the sound of that could be used to help you set yours up?
    - how will you recruit volunteers to drive and which elderly people will you target this service at?
    - are there any restrictions on a scheme like this?for example your volunteers will need to have CRB checks done (feel free to ask if you're not sure about how these work!)
    - where will you get the vehicles and will you buy them outright?

I don't mean to overwhlem you - here at Junction49 we are here to support you in any way that you need to turn your idea into action, so feel free to ask any questions

Hope to hear from you soon

    Zoƫ
