What it's all about

We are the Musical Theatre Society of Northumbria University. We want to put on a performance of the show 'Sweet Charity'. We want to encourage younger people who may not have had experince of the theatre and show them that it is not boring but exciting. We also have contact with a special needs group that are especially interested in theatre. We also wanted to invite older people that may not have the oppertunity to go to the theatre often.

We are also planning to run a workshop before the show for around 20 special needs people, giving tours of backstage, costumes and a history of the show and how theatre is produced.

What's needed to make it a reality

We need lighting, costumes, set and interval refreshments for the guests.

Since you're at Northumbria Uni and it's one of the unis Junction49's working with in partnership you can apply for up to £750 funding to run your project. Contact your volunteer support officer (Samantha)for access to funding, training and support.
