What it's all about

I want to set up a new sports club where we can learn new skills and have some fun.
We have heard about Boccia and think it would be a great game that we could all learn as it can be played with a Jingle Ball which would mean everyone at the RNIB College could play.
We will practice hard and hope that we will be able to enter competitions.
The University coach some of us in sports on their campus, and when we get good at the game we want to invite the University to come to us so we can coach them at Boccia.
If anyone who lives in Town wants to learn we could teach them as well.

What's needed to make it a reality


We need two Boccia sets, some hoops and a Jingle Ball. We can play in the sports hall at the College.

    Because you are a student at Loughborough University you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality. Loughborough University is one of 15 Universities who are taking part in the scheme where you can access funding, training and support from your Junction49 staff member (Carolyn) to help you get your project up and running. She'll be in touch with you soon to start helping you develop your project.

    The sessions have proved really good. The equipment purchased with the funding from Junction 49 has provided the Radmoor Centre Sports Hall at Loughborough College as a venue to hold sessions.
    The sessions have been well attended from groups form the RNIB College and Loughborough College groups.
    The College is hoping that this will lead to a team being formed.
