What it's all about

Settling in swiftly and feeling comfortable is very important to accomplishing goals at university and getting pleasure from life in UK for an International student. The difficulty they experience affects both their happiness and academic achievement. The prospect of this scheme is for current and new students to get more from each other by getting closer and making associates themselves. New students, especially international, usually face a lot of difficulty during the first term regarding cultural understanding, language and adjustment issues.

What's needed to make it a reality

To begin to address this a group of International students are organising a lunchtime workshop on 3/6 at UCL to gather views and information in order to produce a set of recommendations on how to better assist the integration of international students in to the UCL learning community, both academically and in terms of living issues. We will need funding to cover the cost of the refreshments for this.

We've already been in touch and you have got well under way in linking up with other students and booking the room for the venue and are waiting to hear how many students will be attending. This focus group workshop could really start off some fantastic new support mechanisms for international students. I'll continue to offer you support and we'll keep each other updated.
