What it's all about

well i am not all too sure about it in the first place but what the heck an idea is an idea! well imagine us, students of UCL, having some sort of a virtual library in which we can have access to diverse types of books unimaginable and unthinkable on our own.i mean like yeah there is the library there but i am pretty sure our interest is beyond the academics only. so the plan is that we commit our books to a pool from which people can borrow (subject to rules and regulations) and from there, imagine what we have...an access to knowledge without having to buy the books...call it free-riding yeah them economists, but being a human, self-interest is not all that we have. Sharing is also a major part of us!

What's needed to make it a reality

May be there should be a website or a blog or a wiki (or whatever internet creature there is) where people can actually list their books (which they are not reading at the mo) and people can request to borrow the book....(yeah i can sense some people's wild imagination of PROFITeering from here but really this idea is to provide a freer access to books..so kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it if you want to charge peeps for borrowing)
so thats my idea...feel free to add to it!

Because you are a student at UCL you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality. UCL is one of 15 Universities who are taking part in the scheme where you can access funding, training and support from your Junction49 staff member Nadia to help you get your project up and running.

You could also check out BookMooch.com - a community for exchanging used books!

    Good luck!
