While you're waiting for Hollywood to call why not put your skills to good use?

Filmmakers in Education

A One-Day Professional Development Workshop held at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse, November 29th 10-4pm Cost: £30 including Networking, Lunch and Resource Pack.

Working in education is a fantastic way of applying and sharing your skills that benefits the wider community, and offers deeply rewarding experiences for participants and filmmakers alike.

Devised and led by experienced workshop leader, filmmaker, lecturer and trained mentor Sarah Gibson Yates this one-day workshop is targeted at filmmakers with some or no experience of working in education and would like to do so. An inspiring and thought provoking day with practical advice on how to build a career using your filmmaking skills in a wide range of educational contexts.

The day will focus on developing key objectives and strategies when planning and facilitating filmmaking creativity as well as outlining some of the pitfalls and how to avoid them. Other filmmakers experienced in working in education and film education specialists will also be on hand to share and discuss their experiences. The day will include screenings and practical group exercises in the afternoon.

Training Legacy: A mentoring programme is available to coach filmmakers new to education and give them the experience, skills and confidence they need to lead their own workshops. Only filmmakers who have attended the workshop will be eligible to apply.

Places are very limited so apply now by sending your CV and a short statement about why you want to attend the workshop via e-mail to info@film-sense.co.uk.
