Why it was needed

To make the youth of Fulwood aware of peer support in community, to interact with the youth of Fulwood in a better way and also the event was used as a team building event.

What's being done

Travel from Preston to beyond Manchester. In total there were 50 Participants and 7 volunteers from the community. The participants were split in to 2 teams. Main object of Paint Balling was to work as a team by means of communicating and constructing methods of winning, i.e. by means of defending ones own territory and also by attacking in to the opponents territory.

How it started

Advertised the event at two local youth centres, the participants were chosen on a first come first basis. Parental and Medical forms along with information about the event were sent out to individual child’s parents. During this period, research was made of most convenient Paint Ball Centre close to Lancashire. Upon agreeing terms & conditions with centre, finalised details were once again sent out to parents.

Overall the event was a major success. A big thanks goes to Junction 49 for financing the project.

The event it self was a excellent way of making the youth aware of support available and the project was also used as a method of advising and guiding the participants the right path of life and making them aware of the dangers & consequences of taking the wrong path.

The participants were overwhelmed by the support which was provided to them and they all appreciated the efforts the community had made to provide these types of events for them.

We hope in the future to hold many events for purposes of team building, integrating with society and other faiths and cultures.
