What it's all about

To help an autistic child called Brandon to develop social skills including language, eye contact, flexibility, and the ability to be in the company of strangers

What's needed to make it a reality

Why it was needed

To help an autistic child called Brandon to develop social skills including language, eye contact, flexibility, and the ability to be in the company of strangers

What's being done

I go to the child's home once a week and have a 1 1/2 hour session with the Brandon and play or join with him whilst trying to get him to improve aspects of his behaviour such as requesting eye contact when he wants something. This is followed by a feed-back session with his mother. I have also been recruiting other people to join in the project as well.

How it started

Through my university community action office I saw the project and as the first person to get involved was assigned project leader, and so went along to the house to check out the project and get it started.
