What it's all about
I got inspired by the pityful crying mothers and or relatives who are most times inconsolable and hands tied behind the back to forgive if the perpetator is ever found or if not remain in a vague world of uncertainty, grieving for the rest of their life for their loved ones. I want this to be a thing of the past. I want to see people stop crying like this in our communities especially among the minorty ethnic groups among whom this whole idea had been notorious of late.
Poverty and deprievation is the root cause of this whole thing. It make people live in droves hibernating on one an other in mostly council flats and other victorian terrace housing belonging to housing associations and self-managed houses. Such people have nothing to live for and could be a breading groud for drug selling, prostitution and money laundering which are the basis for all animousity which bring about the desire for revenge and thus gun crime.

At Fresher's Fair I asked a lot of middlesex students what they were concerned about and gun crime and it's effect within the community was something that came up time and time again. It is clearly an area of concern for many people. From your posting I see that you want to run a project targeting poverty and deprevation within the community- feel free to correct me if I have misunderstood me. As a middlesex University student there is the possiblilty that Junction 49 could fund you to lead a volunteer project in this area. I think the best way to go from here is for us to have a meeting so as we can discuss exactly what type of project you would like to run. I think it is a very important issue and I would like to help you with making something happen. You can contact me via Junction49@mdx.ac.uk if you get in touch we can arrange a time to meet and discuss things further.
Any news on how your project is developing?
Because you are a student at Middlesex you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality. Middlesex is one of 15 Universities who are taking part in the scheme where you can access funding, training and support from your Junction49 staff member (Helen who commented above) to help you get your project up and running.
