What it's all about

De Montfort University (DMU) has many societies, however the one i believe it is lacking is table tennis! Table tennis is a fun for all sport and a great social aspect for students, also a great way to keep fit! During my time spent in the university, student gym, i have come across many talented players, who are keen to find other players to improve and share a common interest. Training could be in DMU's gym the most promising players could compete against other local universities such as loughborough,and leicester university, and university competitions frequently occur. It would be great to represent the university and give something back. University table tennis competitions can be seen on the english table tennis association website.

What's needed to make it a reality


The gym currently has unkept table tennis bats, so new bats, balls, and tables would be required. The gym would need to be booked for training sessions, if a coach could be gained from the midland region , that would also be great. A team training kit would bring among players, just like the other societies, and they could feel proud to represent DMU whilst competing. Finally advertising would be required to bring awareness among students.
