What it's all about

We are looking to emulate the spirit of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on the campus of Birmingham University itself - with a dynamic and exciting 2 day/ 2 night event taking place in and around the guild on the 11th and 12th of March, 2008 (mostly based in the Underground, but the possibility of a marquee and outside performances and stalls in the space just by the Underground!) to get those creative juices flowing! This event couples the performances of professional sketch comedians and stand-up comedians, and the endless talent of the university's societies - from theatre performances, spoken word, student stand-up talent, circus performances, dance, music, mime, live performance art, workshops and much much more!

What's needed to make it a reality

Obviously we rely on the involvement of student groups and individuals, but we are in desperate need of funds for marquee hire, publicity, bar tabs, venue hire and technical support particularly. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

  • Avatar zw!tch 11:16, 24 January 2008 What a great idea, and I'm sure you'll have great fun organising it too! As you are a student at Birmingham, one of 15 universities working in partnership with Junction49, your Volunteer Support Officer(VSO), Antonia (who commented above!)will be in touch with you to help you access up to £750 of funding and offer you support throughout the development of your project :)

Here's a joke to get you started:

    Knock knock
    Who's there?
    Radio.
    Radio who?
    Radi-o not, here I come

Yeah, sorry about that, I'm sure you'll find some much funnier stuff
