What it's all about

I am working with a group of final year Environmental Health students to promote a Health Campaign to run for a day at both City and Brackenhurst campus early next month.

We are trying to promote Healthy eating and physical activity among university students and would like access to some funds in order to pay for promotional material: leaflets, posters, and maybe to set up a student website, or produce some free calendars to give away. None of the money will be used to pay for staff or used as a wage.

Our unique approach to this promotion is simply to encourage and empower students to take care and responsibility for their own health, not to force-feed them facts and figures as a scare tactic, but by enabling them to make better choices by challenging statements such as... "I can't afford the gym" and "I don't have enough time".

I beileve this event utilises a novel approach to health promotion, which may be more beneficial and rewarding to our student population. As an added bonus, we are also looking to make this sustainable through continued information provision.
