What it's all about

A small project taking up a small group of youths preferably from 16 and 18 who are interested in making a film about their local area. Especially would like to do the project in areas of high incidence of youth crime or with students from failing schools. I got the idea from my own limited experiences in university filiming my own project. Any medium of art can be a positive channel for understanding the world in which we live in, and this includes the medium of film that would encourage students to bring in their own passion for films to bring new interpretations to their local areas. I am hoping that the project will empower the students through their own creativity and initiative.

What's needed to make it a reality

Information and funding to access editing facilities, possibly professional/semi-professional filming equipment, some volunteers who have valid experience teaching of editing and filming techniques or even people in the industry who want to give some of their time.

As a student at middlesex University you are eligible to access funding up to £750 and training to ensure your project gets up and running. I will be in touch via email to arrange a meeting with you soon so as we can start working on your idea.

Well as a bit of luck I am getting sent on a filming course. I might be able to help you out with this project once I've completed it.
