EVER WANTED TO STRIP OFF FOR CHARITY, WELL HERE’S YOU’RE CHANCE!
GET SPONSORED TO RUN 1 MILE AROUND CAMPUS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD.
Bath Engineers Without Borders (EWB) aim to make this a high profile event, covered by the universities own press as well as regional news teams in order to achieve 3 goals:
1. to raise vital funds to support developing communities, giving them the opportunity to sustainably bring themselves out of poverty – it has often been proven that despite often being low on funds themselves students can be incredibly supportive towards charities. We aim to show once again the positive influence students have regarding topical issues. Money raised would be made directly available to these poorer communities, as well as paying for the training of individuals to manage development projects.
2. to raise much needed awareness for development projects run by charities like Engineers Without Borders - it is too often the case that without publicity, ongoing development projects do not receive the funding they need.
3. to ensure participants (whether they be runners, volunteers, sponsors) have a great time on the day – students are also notorious for holding the best parties! To attract people to the event and hopefully make it successful enough to be feasible as an annual fundraiser, an after “run” BBQ with drinks offers and live music will be organised. Runners will receive free food and drinks tokens.

What's needed to make it a reality

We are already actively speaking to members of the Students Union and various societies, to get advise on how to run the event and support for the day itself.
However, to make this event a reality we are in need of initial funds to pay Backstage fees for Start and Finish podiums/arches, advertising costs and the costs of the "Runners packs".
The packs will include a pair of numbered large pants/ shorts, water, energy bar, meal and drink vouchers. Although we are hoping to receive sponsorship for some of these items, we will need funding to pay for initial costs.

As you are a student at University of Bath you can access up to £750 for your project. I'll send you an email and we can meet up to discuss your idea further.

    Cheers Sabrina
