What it's all about
The money will be used to take eight 14-17 year olds, who are members of the Jinnah youth forum, to Hellvellen youth hostel in the Lake District. The reason for the resendential, will be to promote team building, and give the young people the opportunity to try new activities and develop skills, in a new and challenging environment. This residential will take under-privileged youths, from the Stoneyhome and Daneshouse area of Burnley, who would otherwise never have had the opportunity to experience all the Lake Distric has to offer. The residential will also help build strong bonds and trust between members of the forum, volunteers and staff of the project, which will enable closer working relationships, and promote better communication. The trip will hopefully give the young peolp confidence which will empower them to take responsibility for the direction of the project.

This seems like a really worthwhile project. When I was younger I was involved in a youth group that gave us opportunities to go on residentals in Kent - not quite as spectacular as the Lake District but still really worth it, especially for people who would otherwise not have a chance to have those types of experiences.

Hope your well.
Yeh it seems like a great project giving those young people who have not had the opportunity to go on a residential.
I'll be in touch with you soon for us to have a chat about your project.
