What it's all about

One of the challenges facing students living out in private rented accommodation is dealing with recycling.
Although the Council does send out letters with details about recycling these are easy to ignore/discard.

Solution

To distribute a fridge magnet with details about
What to recycle
When to recycle
Who to contact if there are problems

We are going to have meetings with the community living action group and the local council to gather information about recycling and them produce a design. We will then recruit a team of volunteers to distribute the fridge magnets through students doors.
Studetns often get a bad name from the locals for not putting their bins and recycling boxes out on the right day. In some residential areas this causes friction between the locals and residing students. I think this project will be an excellent way to reduce this conflict and build a stronger community and will also be environmantally friendly as will encourage more students to recycle.

What's needed to make it a reality

I need support from the volunteer support officer to help recruit volunteers through student community action. I also need funding to produce the fridge magnets.
