What it's all about
The idea is for YOU to come and join our team to put together a wild and wacky performace art day promoting healthy living through cycling. There will be bicycle stunts teams, novelty bicycles that make smoothies, performance art on bicycles and general craziness!
All of this is hopefully happening in Gillett Square, Hackney on the 25th October with our budget of £5000.
What's needed to make it a reality
We want to attract lots of attention to the event and get Hackney residents actively involved in our campaign!

As you can see, things are moving on with the cycling event now!
We have a meeting next week where we are hoping to finalise Gillett Square and 25th October for the event and so we now need to get on our bikes (excuse the pun) to get the rest up together!
We want you all to be involved so post any ideas or comments up here and I'll respond or you can email help@junction49.co.uk to offer your help.
One of the most important ways to get involved is to spread the word…let everyone know of the cycling scheme that Boris Johnson has proposed and compare it to the schemes that Paris and Amsterdam have for residents and tourists.
Cycling is a great way to keep fit and also do our bit for the environment and the event will be a fun way to raise awareness of both so let's get started!

I’m afraid I have some bad news…we have decided to postpone the flagship cycling event.
We took a look at Gillett Square which was a great venue and although wasn’t ideal for the original ‘flashmob’ idea, it would have been perfect to host the performing arts and stunt bike sessions.
The cycling day was for young people to come together and organise an event that showcases what Junction49 is all about. However, we did not have quite as many volunteers as we would have hoped for and decided to delay the event so that when we do pull it off it’s all about you!
The cycling theme was a big hit and a lot of hard work went into researching ideas for the day. We owe a massive thank you to everyone who helped out and we want to reassure you all that none of the efforts were in vain as we will use these ideas in the future.
We want the future event to tell the Junction49 story: who we are and what we can do for 16-25 year olds who want to make a difference!
The team are still here to help you develop and realise your own ideas through advice, support and funding.
Sorry to disappoint you.
