What it's all about
To make up as many shoeboxes as possible full of presents and goodies for children in Bulgaria.
These are as valuable as gold dust as it is the only present these children will receive and usually includes small items that they can call their own, in addition to more practical items. The shoeboxes will support the work of CORF (Children's Overseas Relief Fund) who will distribute the boxes to children in orphanages and single parent families.
This is a great way to get involved in volunteering if you've never been involved before or you feel you don't have much time to spare but want to make a difference!
As volunteers on this project you would be making an impact to children's lives in the international community and helping to maintain the work of a project set up in your local community of Bristol.
What's needed to make it a reality
If you're interested in helping out, send me a message or come and see me in The Sports and Activities Centre in the student union, OR come along on the 6th October to the Junction49 welcome meet up. More details to follow...
If you're budding to start getting involved in the project sooner than this... go to your local shoe shop and ask for some spare shoe boxes or start collecting odds and ends from your house or your friends to put into the boxes.

Good to hear the Christmas Shoeboxes are going to be filled in Bristol! Perhaps you can add a couple of actions to this idea telling people what sort of goodies are the most useful for the boxes.
Am sure the 6th will be a great success and a good way to spread the word of Junction49 at UWE.
Best of luck!

I have a personal question about this? Why did you choose Bulgaria? I have strong links to Bulgaria myself so I'm genuinely curious. :) Report Abuse
