What it's all about

I want to see more and more people getting excited about donating their old clothes and old sleeping bags to homeless charities in the area - I would like to encourage a night out where students come wearing as many clothes as they can possibly fit on and then they take them off into large bins waiting. From there the clothes are wased and either dispensed to local homeless charities or if they are not in good enough condition then given to charity shops. There would be competitions run on the night to win prizes such as most clothes worn and a prize for everyone who brings in a sleeping bag.
I want everyone on the streets to have their own sleeping bag.

What's needed to make it a reality

I need the financial backing to get this going! I want to hire out a venue or work with events management starting at Loughborough University Student Union and then seeing where it can take me!

As you are a student at Loughborough University you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality. Loughborough is one of 12 Universities who are taking part in the scheme where you can access funding, training and support from your Volunteer Support Officer (Darren) to help you get your project up and running. Check out: http://www.junction49.co.uk/university/62/loughborough_students_union/

Starting with the Union for a venue is a great idea, as it will attract a great number of students and you could even make it into a termly event if its a success.

Let us know if you need any help or advice, we're always happy to help.
