What it's all about
The JMU Islamic Society would like to hold a Fusion Fashion Show in November. The theme is a fusion of cultures, and we hope to get a range of collections of clothes from all over the world, as well as clothes from the high street.
Zainab Umar has asked for help on this idea - Find out how you can helpWhat's needed to make it a reality
The main thing we need to get started is financial help as well as stores contributing or loaning us clothes that we can advertise for them. We also need to source and book venues, and start advertising from now.

Sounds like a great idea, i particularly like the idea of it being a fusion of cultures, giving the show something extra. A few universities did similar ideas to this last year. I've added the links below, as it might be worth getting in contact with them to ask them for any advice in setting up the fashion show and the best ways to approach stores for clothing.

As you're a student at LJMU, you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality. LJMU is one of 12 Universities who are taking part in the scheme where you can access funding, training and support from your Volunteer Support Officer (Lucy) to help you get your project up and running. You can take a look at the university page here:

Great to see your idea up here! It would be a good idea to set up a meeting between me, your Junction49 Volunteer Support Officer, and the Islamic Society - or a representative, to put together a formal funding application form. You can email me at junction49@ljmu.ac.uk or ring me on 0151 231 3850 when you are ready to get the ball rolling!
Thanks,
Lucy
