What it's all about

Several students decided that it would be great if we can invite some local school children to the University (University of the West of England) to participate in a sports and fitness workshop during the day and a campus tour in the afternoon.

Hopefully we would be able to promote and stimulate interest on a variety of different sports during the workshop which might not be on their current school curriculum.

What's needed to make it a reality

Thanks for posting your idea. I think it's great to invite local school children to visit the campus, whilst engaging them in some sport. School children always seem in awe when they get to take a look around a university.

I think UWE did something similar last year, where they held a sports day. You can take a look at these pages to find out how they did it and if they have any advice for you:

As you are a student at UWE you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality. UWE is one of 12 Universities who are taking part in the scheme where you can access funding, training and support from your Junction49 staff member (Helen) to help you get your project up and running. You can take a look at your university page here: http://www.junction49.co.uk/university/13/university_of_west_of_england_-_bristol

Let us know if you need anything else, we're always happy to help!
