What it's all about
Breakdancing performance aimed at people with learning disabilities. The aim is to set up links with Lawnmowers Theatre Company and potentially deliver workshops.
Breakdancing society will deliver a one-off showcase performance with the aim to develop workshops for people with learning disabilities in the future. After the performance members will demonstrate some breakdancing routines.
What's needed to make it a reality
We've organised the venue already, and recruited 15 volunteers.
It'll be on 13th November at Venue, Northumbria Student Union 7pm.
We would like as many people to come to this as possible, if your interested in breakdancing, its a good way to learn new routines and styles.
Lawnmowers (Krocodile Krew a theatre company with people with learning disabilities) will be attending to learn new skills and hopfully use it in their future performances.

A while ago I mentioned about the Junction49 celebration event in London. You can nominate your project for this and possibly even receive an award. See below for further details. You've worked so hard on your project I'd really like the rest of the world to see how much effort and good you're doing so please nominate it :-)
Also have you heard back from the other members about performing at the awards party? It would be great if you could?
Here at Junction49, we want to celebrate all of the hardwork and effort you’ve put into your volunteering projects and on 16th June we are putting on a Party at the Proud Galleries in Camden, London.
At the party, awards are going to be given out to you guys, but to have a shot at winning we need to hear about your projects and the fantastic difference that you are making in your community.
The awards you could win are:
Best J49er (best user of the website)
Most innovative project
Best ongoing project
Best one-off project
If you would like to be nominated for an award and be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize, all you need to do is fill out a diary entry on your ideas page on Junction49.co.uk, which answers the following 3 questions:
1. What was your project about?
2. How do you think it made a difference to the community or the wider world?
3. What did you get out of/like about volunteering on this project?
You have until 5pm on 4th June 2009 to fill this out and then we will shortlist all nominations. Go on, fill it out, you know you deserve a chance of winning!
Good Luck and hopefully see you on 16th June.
