What it's all about
My idea for voluntary work is to combine my future career with my hobby; I would like to visit residential home(s) in my idea and teach them to make cards e.g bithday cards for loved ones. I feel strongly that elderly people should be encouraged to take part in an activity which stimulates both the mind and body, together with having produced a lovely piece of art work in the form of a card. I am a year one adult nursing student and have worked in a residential home and have made cards for the last couple of years, and seen first hand the benefit elderly people gain from taking part in activities such as these.
