Thanks for posting your idea!! This sounds like a really worthwhile project and one which will be really valuable to others out there, especially if nothing like this already exists.
You mentioned already obtaining funding opportunities - have you been funded to set this project up already? If you have, that's great. If you are still looking for funding, let me know and we can help you look for other avenues of funding.
If there's anything you need at all to help you get this project up and running, let us know. We're always happy to offer any support or advice where we can.
I just wanted to let you know about another project which is being set up at Kingston University called Project Phoenix. Part of their project is to set up a support group for students who suffer from mental health problems and although your group is for families and relatives, but it may be worth getting in contact to see if they have any advice about setting up a support group. Here is the link to their idea page, I hope it may be of use: http://www.junction49.co.uk/idea/1815/project_phoenix/

I just wanted to let you know about a new funding opportunity that has come up which you may be interested in applying to:
vcashpoint is the funding initiative originally launched in February 2007, that offers young people aged 16 to 25 up to £2500 to turn their ideas for voluntary projects into reality. The new funding round opens on Monday 24th November, so you can check out their website then to check eligibility criteria, application forms and other information if you're interested. The website is www.vinspired.com
How is your idea coming along? Did you manage to get any funding? Here at Junction49 we are currently offering users the opportunity to win up to £1000 to turn their ideas into reality, judging against the criteria on this page http://www.junction49.co.uk/pages/win_funding. We've just chosen the ideas we'd like to offer funding to and yours is one of them.
If you are still looking for funding and you would like the funding from Junction49 then your next step is to decide on your proposed budget and let us know. We can offer you a maximum of £300 to be used one your project by May 2009. Please can you also email a contact phone number (in fact ideally a mobile and landline) to help@junction49.co.uk?
I am one of the team working in the communications department for Junction49 and I love your idea so much. I wondered whether you might be up for helping us to promote Junction49 so that more young people get the chance to share and make their ideas become a reality.
Would you be up for talking about your experience as a young carer, how having a mum who’s bi-polar affects you in your day-to-day life and why you wanted to get this group up and running? I've got a teen website interested? I’d just need to do a quick interview with you on the phone (15 minutes tops). It would be amazing if you were up for having your photo online, but if you’re not up for that, then that’s absolutely fine, too.
How is the setting up of the support group going? If there is anything you need from the helpdesk team then please do not hesitate to get in contact. If you are interested in accessing funding from Junction49 to help develop your idea then please do get in touch, simply by sending an email to help@junction49.co.uk. The funding is available until May 2009.
You can let other Junction49ers know about how your idea is going by updating your diary, and you never know this may encourage others to get involved, or set up something similar in their local areas.
It's a fantastic idea and would be really nice to hear how it is going and support you if needed. If you would be happy to speak to someone in our communications team then don't forget you can contact k.wilson@timebank.org.uk even if it's just to find out a bit more information about what is involved.
I hope it's going well and hope to hear from you soon.
