What it's all about
We would like to raise awareness for the childrens' charity Barnados in a fun, interactive way for both volunteers and participants. The fundraising event involves students purchasing and popping balloons to win prizes which have been kindly donated by companies and the local community. It has great visual impact and will hopefully maximise the potential for students to participate in voluntary work making it a memorable experience for all.
What's needed to make it a reality
We need volunteers! In addition, we rely on donations for prizes from companies and seek to build relationship between the university and firms. In terms of the event itself, we require balloons (for popping) and marketing resources such as posters and leaflets to raise awareness about the event and charity.

It's great to see your idea up here! I hope the prize hunting goes well, you'll definately need to use big smiles at the 'mo, but it's the season of giving so that should help.

This fundraising event sounds like great fun and it's certainly a different way to raise money. Good Luck with blagging some prizes, hopefully you'll get quite a few donations - Pound Shops are always good places to get little things to put inside the balloons.

There's beed some fab feedback, a few students said they were really happy with the prizes they won, in the office we all think it was a great idea because it's so simple to set up and raised so much money!
Well done girls, I'm seriously impressed. Report Abuse
