I bring happy news to you all.
Happy New Year!!
I know its really been a long long time since l have been on this site! And am sorry :p!
Just been really busy and haven`t really had time to get on here and update everything.
Last month I met Sarah and Ada from from the j49 team, such lovely people and l was happy to have finally met them, especially Sarah who has been so supportive since day one! I finally knew who I was constantly talking to on emails. Was a pleasure to meet you guys :), made my day!
And thanks for cheering when I was talking about how you introduced me to somewhereto_ when l was doing my Cultural Get 2Gether project back in October!
Now back to the project, as I have mentioned we finally, finally have funding for this cooking project! Well it`s a conditional grant from the People`s Trust (National Health Lottery funds these projects, if you have been seeing the adverts with the big colourful afros lately), we have just sent off all the information they asked for and it`s looking pretty good.
Come March we will be ready to go with the project. It`s such an exciting time for The Go-Ahead Youth as this is our biggest funding ever! We are talking a lot of thousands here :-)
However as great as we might be feeling we are also a bit nervous -here we go again! We realise that we have a lot of work to do and that we have to deliver a successful project. That`s a lot of pressure! Also as it`s a youth organisation run by young people between 17 amd 23 it`s going to be a huge responsibility for us! However we are positive that we will do it! Biggest project of 2012 ours will be!
If any of you all fancy getting involved or bringing your expertise to the project then please do get in touch. Would love love love to hear from you!

Promise to be back soon telling you how it`s all going! Now gonna be busy busy busy planning the project..
Note: Do not ever lose hope, if you have a project that you are passionate about and you get rejected for funding, don`t give up! Just try a different funder!
And that my friends is the story of how this project came to life, after two rejections! Finally hit the jackpot after trying and trying and trying :) KEEP GOING :)

Today have leant how to create a new idea on this site. Stll a newbie so trying to get used to the site... Proud of myself, have spend a good few hour checking and navigating around the site. Also been look at other young people`s projects for inspiration. In fact I have been inspired to start another project around black youth! hmm need to think about that one first before I get too excited!

Woop Woop! Finally finished the Awards for All funding form and will know of the decision within 30 days. Wish me luck!
Quite nervous but at the same time excited and looking forward to doing the project.
Great thanks to Sarah who has helped me with the app form. Her comments were really useful and thanks to her again I managed to finish it!
