Afro- De `Light Cooking Project

Core Volunteers aged between 16-25 needed!

Hi, We are currently looking for 5 young African people to be the core volunteers for this project (preferably NEETs) who will go on to be trained and will be the drive for this project. Everyone is still welcome to be a part of this project :). If you are or know anyone that is aged between 16 and 25 and is of African heritage and lives in Leicester and probably also keen on cooking traditional food, then please send them our way. TGAY -Afro-Recipes for young people

I have started doing an application for unding to Awards for All but now finding it difficult to finish it. To make this a reality we need to secure funding and then look for young volunteers, preferably those that are NEETS as it would open up opportunities for them and give them something to do. Also need encouragement from other young people that have been able to successfully get funding as I am feeling a bit wary now with what`s been going on in the voluntary sector. If it`s not too much to ask for would also need help to launch our organisation!! But that can come after we have completed a few projects for the young people.

African Recipe Samplers needed!

We need at least 50 young people aged between 13 and 25 to sample some African recipes collected from the community by core volunteers and then help to decide which ones to put in the recipe booklets. Young people will work in groups of 6, if you and your friends are based in Leicester and would like to try out making African food then please get in touch. Everything will be provided for. Just need you :) This will probably be in the summer and can be arranged for when you and your friends are all available... Look forward to hearing from you :)
