What it's all about
I love pantomime's and wish they could be an all year round event... Wait they can!!
I would like to set up a Norfolk based Touring Pantomime company. The company would tour school, youth clubs etc. The company would also be available for general hire, and tour Norfolk.
They say start small, and that's just what I want do, the company would potentially expand to other regions in the UK, when money allows it.
What's needed to make it a reality
Initial Funding to get the project started. (Prince's trust is an issue as i'm at college.)
Budding writers to assist with writing the pantomime's
Performers & Stage Hands.

Great to see you've got another idea. How did your other ideas go?
This sounds like a fantastic project and looks like you've already done a bit of research into the running of the project. Setting it up initially for £500 sounds very reasonable and I'm sure you would be able to find some funding to cover the cost of that.
When applying for funding you might need to focus on how your project would impact the local community i.e. are you trying to develop confidence in young people (will it be other young people involved in delivering the pantomime) or are you trying to help people develop new skills etc...
There's someone in London who runs drama workshops which is different to your idea but around the same area, so you might be interested to get in touch to see if they have any advice: http://www.junction49.co.uk/idea/1834/dramajam_youth_for_youth_dramatic_arts_outreach/#latest_comment
In terms of looking for funding there are a few places you could definitely apply to:
- O2 Think Big http://www.o2thinkbig.co.uk/
Awards of £300 for your project, given in stages, for projects to improve the community. This is open to 13-25 year olds. You get £300 when you first apply and then after that bit of funding is completed you can be invited to apply for a further £2500.
- Live UnLtd http://www.liveunltd.com/
Live UnLtd will give up to £5,000 of funding and all the support needed to turn a great idea into a reality. Open to 11-21 yr olds. (you could always get a younger volunteer to apply for this if you're not within the age range)
IdeasTap http://www.ideastap.com/
I would strongly recommend registering with this site as you'll get weekly emails letting you know about the different opportunities and funding streams available. They have different funds or 'briefs' (as they called them) every month so worth checking to see if you're eligible.
If you need any help or have any questions at all, just get in touch.

I just found out about this great competition which is being run where you could win £20,000 for your project and all you need to do is post it on this website - www.thestake.co.uk and get people to vote for the idea. The 20 ideas with the most votes or stakes will be shortlisted and then 6 will be given funding and support from some top mentors. If you go for it, let us know and we'll help promote it via Twitter and Facebook.

I contacted prince's trust about their Enterprise scheme, and they've said that i should re- apply when i finish college, the phone call sounded really promising. So i'll wait and pursue that, before i take any other offers.
I genuinely think this idea is going to take off. Report Abuse
That's great to hear that things with the Prince's Trust sound promising. There's no harm applying elsewhere though if you want to do that too and then you get the best of both worlds.
All looking good for the project.

How is everything going? I just wanted to check in to see whether you had heard about any funding for your pantomime?
It would be great to hear how it's all going.
