What it's all about

We started this website as a group of volunteers working on a volunteering programme called 24/24. During some of the stuff we were doing we discovered that all of us had faced some kind of issue in our lives and although there was some good websites around sometimes it was hard to find information that we needed to get help!!! The idea for our own website was born

What's needed to make it a reality

help with funding and people interested in getting involved

we have recently signed up on www.thestake.co.uk to put in for funding so we need as many people as possible to become a fan of our idea to maximise the chance of getting funding. the H.E.L.P website is registered under ashleigh L one of the 24/24 volunteers. please lend your support it only takes 5 mins and can help us take this website as far as possible.

Great to meet you earlier. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip down to London.

Zoe and I really enjoyed hearing about your project and think there is lots of potential for it become really successful. I really love that you want to share what you've learned with others as well and inspire them to set up something regionally themselves.

I know you're looking for funding to develop the project and to be able to visit other organisations/groups of young people around the country. Here are a few of the things that I mentioned when we met you earlier:

    The Stake http://www.thestake.co.uk/
Sign up before 23rd December and encourage as many people as possible to put a stake in your project. The 20 ideas with the highest number of stakes will go through to be shortlisted and then 6 projects will win the money.

    - O2 Think Big http://www.o2thinkbig.co.uk/
Awards of up to £2500 for your project, given in stages, for projects to improve the community. This is open to 13-25 year olds. In the first round you can apply for £300 and then after you've completed that part of the project you might get invited to apply for £2500.

    - Live UnLtd http://www.liveunltd.com/
Live UnLtd will give up to £5,000 of funding and all the support needed to turn a great idea into a reality. Open to 11-21 yr olds.

If you need any help with funding applications or want us to take a look over anything before you submit it, just let us know or send an email to help@junction49.co.uk.

If you want to get other people from your group to sign up to you can invite them as co-owners and you can add a diary entry about your trip to London and maybe post a link to the website too.

I'm going to comment on a few people's ideas to tell them to go check out the website, but feel free to explore other ideas on the site too.

Good Luck and look forward to hearing more about how this project develops.

    Sarah

  • Avatar Sarah 12:44, 07 December 2011 J49 Team Hi Reece,

Great to hear from you. Really pleased to hear you've had lots of great feedback, I've been telling other young people about it and also wrote a blog which you can see on our homepage.

Give me a shout if you need any help or have any questions related to the project. If you get Chris to invite you to be a 'co-owner' of the idea then you can add your own diary entries, photos and videos etc...

  • Avatar Sarah 12:48, 08 December 2011 J49 Team Hi Chris,

That's great that you've registered. I know what you mean about trying to find things on the website, it is pretty difficult but thanks very much for the link. I've just added 2 stakes to it. Looks like you've got loads already which is really good, hopefully you'll be in with a pretty good chance.

I'm going to tweet about it now and see if we can get anyone else backing it.
