What it's all about
Team v is a youth volunteering movement aimed to change the world one campaign at a time.
This campaign is all about raising awareness and ending loneliness in the elderly population.
1 in 10 older people feel lonely often or always.
Over 50% say the TV is their main form of entertainment
Loneliness is the 'silent killer'.
And over 40% don't know where to turn for help.
This is what we hope to change, by raising awareness, creating an event(s) and create a lasting impact
What's needed to make it a reality
Focus Group co-ordinator, Media Relations, Graphic Design, Events Coordinator, Events helper, Skill Swapper. Anyone to help in any part

Welcome to Junction49. I'm Sarah here to support you in whatever way I can with your campaign.
I've heard lots of great things about Team v and the latest campaign looks fantastic.
I'm not sure what you're planning yet for your social event, but you can check out this page on the site which has some ideas from other young people about intergenerational projects. http://www.junction49.co.uk/partner/5/digitall/ I also used to run a project called Digitall which matched young people with older people to teach them computer and internet skills. At the end of the project we ran a celebration event with a Wii and all of the mentees (older people) absolutely loved it - I was completely put to shame! Anyway there' a guide here which may be useful if you wanted to do something along these lines: http://www.junction49.co.uk/public/resources/digitall/Digitall_Volunteers_Guide.pdf
Also if you are looking for venue space at all for your social event, you may have heard of them already, but if not check out www.somewhereto.com as they can help you find the space you need for free.
If you need any help at all, just let me know and keep us updated with how it's all going.
I'll tweet/post about it on Facebook too.
Good Luck!
