Welcome to Junction49. I'm Sarah from the Junction49 team here to support you in getting your idea all set up.
This is a brilliant idea and it sounds like you already have some backing from one of your teachers which will really help if you want to run something within your school.
You said that you want to raise money for charity - do you have any ideas for fundraising activities? You could maybe organise a day of fundraising at your school, where you have a non-uniform day, cake sale and other things. You could then run a school assembly or class assemblies on the day where you talk about your project, what you are aiming to achieve and raise awareness in your school about the effects of knife crime.
You should check out Michelle's idea here: http://www.junction49.co.uk/idea/2645/knivescostlives/ She ran a similar campaign and went around to schools and colleges raising awareness of knife crime. You could comment on her idea to get some advice about what she did and see if you can promote her campaign at the same time.
Making a film sounds like a really good way to visually portray your campaign. I'll give you some links below to other people and charities doing similar things in this area who you could contact. They should be able to help you with getting the different sides of the story and feelings right. (On the ideas that are on Junction49, you can just comment on their ideas walls)
You could promote this guy's C.D. or sell it to raise money for charity http://www.junction49.co.uk/idea/2624/the_piece_or_peace_-_free_anti_gun_crime_cd/
Hayley wants to put on an anti-knife crime play so could be useful to talk to about your film.

Organisations that you could raise money for or get in contact to come and speak at your school:

To get funding to cover the cost of putting on your project, you could apply to o2 Think Big.
Awards of £300 for your project, given in stages, for projects to improve the community. This is open to 13-25 year olds. You get £300 when you first apply and then after that bit of funding is completed you can be invited to apply for a further £2500. http://www.o2thinkbig.co.uk/
I hope that helps to get you started. Give me a shout if you have any questions about the above and if you need any help in applying for funding. Keep us updated on your progress - you can add diary entries, photos and videos as you go along using the tabs at the top of your idea.
Good Luck!

No, you wouldn't need to use your own money at all to pay for equipment. You can apply for funding from o2 Think Big for £300 which you can use to cover any costs associated with your project. You can click on the link in the comment that I posted above which will take you to your website. Once you've submitted an application you usually hear from them within 6 weeks. If you need any help filling in the application, just let me know.

I posted about your idea on Twitter and someone got back to me with a film that she made a few years ago on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=611XHeYLGrA
The person who made the film is also on Junction49 so if you need to get in contact you can contact her through her idea here: http://www.junction49.co.uk/idea/2902/combating_loneliness_and_isolation_amongst_older_people/

I met this group of young people who are setting up an idea with a similar theme to yours. They are going to design t-shirts to raise money for a knife/gun awareness raising charity and are also going to produce a video about it too.
http://www.junction49.co.uk/idea/2966/put_down_the_knife_and_live_your_life/
I thought there might be a few ways you could get involved or collaborate with them if you wanted to.
- they need ideas for t-shirt designs or slogans they can include so if you've got any, feel free to post on their wall.
- you could always help to sell the tshirts produced at your school and maybe even get the guys from this project to come to your school to film people's views about gun/knife crime.
Of course you don't have to do any of this and may prefer to run your own project, but you may be able to share advice and ideas about how you can both move forward with your ideas.
