What it's all about

I think that in line with the governments get healthy schemes, there should be more opportunity for children and teenagers to take part in outdoor sports. The sport I have in mind is parkour also known as free running, but its not only a sport but a discipline as well. It teaches the values of healthy living, being focused and having a strong mind. However there are only a few school or places that practice parkour throughout England. If the government could help out by offering funding to provide community sessions.

What's needed to make it a reality

  • Avatar Alex 14:02, 28 September 2007 Parkour is a great philosophy and I completely agree that more people should be able to access it. Plus it is an activity that appeals to the need young adults feel to be cool whilst also getting them to exercise. Good luck! Report Abuse
  • Avatar zw!tch 11:12, 17 October 2007 There's a new website for Parkour in the North East of England: have a look! The main thing up there at the moment is the forums but there are also contact details so if you want to get involved go for it :) http://www.nepk.co.uk

Also have a look at the UK Parkour Association website. http://parkour.org.uk
