What it's all about

The idea is to educate and encourage more fathers to understand the importance of their constant and positive interaction with their children.
At the heart of this problem, we find children who have had little or no father figures in their lives and therefore are unable to relate appropriately in society.
The majority of these children are the ones who end up in gangs, crime, drop-outs and other anti-social activities.
Especially with regards to boys, it is very tough for a mother to raise them up on her own.

What's needed to make it a reality

We will need to invite fathers and men in general, to a relaxing, entertaining environment, where we can have speakers not only from professional Child Development background, but also dedicated fathers who are reaping the rewards of their positive impact on their children.
Another effective method is to get the children themselves to express how they feel about spending more quality time with their dads.
Leaflets, information stalls, periodic meetings, ideas workshops and posters are all ways by which men can be encouraged to realize the importance of their unreserved involvement in the development of the child, and the unique way they influence and stimuate the childs socio-psychological development .

Since you're at UEL and it's one of the universities Junction49's working with in partnership you can apply for up to £750 funding to run your project. Contact your volunteer support officer (Joey)for access to funding, training and support.

Good luck! Let us know how you get on - the development of this project would be relevant to people all over the UK
