What it's all about

I trained through GirlGuiding UK as a peer educater on various different topics including: bullying, eating disorders, binge drinking and refugee issues. Im trained to deliver sessions with groups of between 10-30 young people of different sexes and ages (up to age of 18). My sessions have a range of fun and games as well as more serious small/large group work. I plan for my Junction 49 to be a one-off event to start with. I hope to go into a local primary school and hold one session there within anti-bullying week.

What's needed to make it a reality

Sweets, pens, flip-chart.

  • Avatar Sarah 13:33, 11 October 2007 I'm in Kingston, what project do you run in West Norwood?
  • Avatar zw!tch 12:11, 17 October 2007 I'm involved with Co-operative YouthBank - we've posted details on Junction49 here! If you've got any questions or advice just let us know :)
  • Avatar zw!tch 16:11, 29 November 2007 This sounds great! Keep up the good work
  • Avatar Mad 16:21, 29 November 2007 Great idea to tie in with an existing initiative like anti-bullying week but offer your own solutions
  • Avatar Ella 17:03, 29 November 2007 I think it makes such a difference when young people discuss these issues with other young people. I'm pretty sure the pupils you spoke to got so much more out of the session because you weren't a teacher/parent. Keep us updated with your plans for the future
  • Avatar Burffy 22:41, 29 November 2007 Hey, some of us have relatives and friends at primary schools and would LOVE to know more about you and your plans. as for me, I would like to know if you are able to provide workshops for younger people (maximum year 4s?)
If so, let me know to see what we can organise for "my" primary school sometime next year
