What it's all about

NSCA (Northumbria Student Community Action) are setting up projects within the community to try and make a positive impact. On Wednesday 17th October, we are going to help out at Brandling Park (one of the smaller parks attached to Exhibition Park) with some of the elderly community, and do some gardening with them, for a couple of hours. We will be digging up the old plants and planting bulbs for the winter. We are hoping to make regular visits there throughout the coming year to help make a difference to the area and the community.

What's needed to make it a reality

We require some gardening equipment to use throughout the year, such as:
Trowels,
Forks,
Spades,
etc.. general gardening equipment

This sounds like an excellent idea to build better community relations in the local area. I think it will also be really beneficial to many of our international students, allowing them to get to know fellow students and the area through a practical activity!

As you are a student studying at Northumbria University, you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into reality. As you know, this is a specific project running at Northumbria and another 14 unis across the country.

As your Junction49 Uni staff member, I can give you training and support to develop your idea.

Thanks ? I?ll be in touch soon to arrange a meeting with you so that we can discuss your idea further.
