What it's all about

NSCA are hoping to host film screening events thoughout the year, inviting members of the community and students at Northumbria University. It will be held in Stage 2 in the Student Union, with NSCA volunteers (in appropriate attire) giving out light refreshments (popcorn is a must!) to all the guests. We are hoping to have themed genres such as children/youth, comedy, classics for the elderly, romantic comedy etc. It is a chance to build a relationship with the community and the students during an evening of leisure and entertainment for everyone.

What's needed to make it a reality

Licence to screen films
Refreshments - popcorn etc
Clothing for themed nights
DVD rental

I think this a really good way of promoting community cohesion. Also I'm really impressed that the groups you aim to reach out to include potentially socially excluded groups!

As you are a student studying at Northumbria University, you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into reality. As you know, this is a specific project running at Northumbria and another 14 unis across the country.

As your Junction49 Uni staff member, I can give you training and support to develop your idea.

Thanks, I'll be in touch soon to arrange a meeting with you so that we can discuss your idea further.
