What it's all about

I am a HUGE football fan and would like to get involved at a football club (spurs if possible as it is the closest team to me)- football i the community type work. I'm not too good a player but would love to be involved in getting kids into these types of programmes. maybe helping out in some way. As a female who loves football I always wished there was more opportunity for girls to play football.

What's needed to make it a reality

Thanks for submitting your idea, are you still interested in pursuing this?

Girls' football has really taken off over the last few years and to get players involved at an early age can produce excellent results as well as keeping kids active.

As you are based in Enfield, have you tried contacting Enfield Town Ladies FC http://www.enfieldtownladiesfc.com/ . They run clubs for the under-9’s, under 16’s and the senior club is open to those aged 16+.

As a Spurs fanatic you could contact the club to see if they would send a representative to an event you put on to encourage participation. Or, as a role-model for young girls you could contact the Womens’ Football Association http://www.thefa.com/Womens/GettingInvolved/ who should put you in contact with your local representative.

Let us know how you get on!

I'm the new volunteer support officer for Middlesex University.
This really has a potential to drum up a lot of interest in the area, especially with so many Middlesex students coming from the North London area.
Also have you contacted the sports teams in the university? I'm not sure if they have a womens football team yet but I think there would be plenty of scope for one.

If your interested in reviving this project then get in touch so we can discuss ideas.
