What it's all about
My idea is to get a group of parents together and organize sport activities for young children in parks and playgrounds; the idea behind this project is to encourage young children to develop a taste for sports, physical activities and to have fun.
What's needed to make it a reality
I need help registering my group/organization with my local council, advice on how to go about doing things and I need more sports equipments appropriate for children age 2 to 7

That sounds like a great idea - here at Junction49 we're all about turning young people's ideas into action - so would this group be aimed specifically at young parents under 25? Or perhaps you could involve young volunteers in your activities, helping to play with the children etc.
There is a scheme called Community Sports Leader's Award, which trains young people to get involved in helping young people with sports - and making it fun! Perhaps you could contact with them to see if you could get some young people qualified with CSLA to help run your group? There are some of examples of young people who've taken part here.
I see you're from London - The City of London has a Sports Grants Scheme where you can apply for up to £500, but you do need to be a group/club/society to apply. Have a look: http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/cgi-bin/htm_hl.pl?DB=col&STEMMER=en&WORDS=sport%20grant&ALL=&ANY=&EXACTB=0&PHRASE=&EXACTP=0&CATEGORIES=&SIMPLE=sport%20grant&COLOUR=Red&STYLE=s&URL=http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/Corporation/leisure_heritage/sporting_activities/sports_grant_scheme.htm#muscat_highlighter_first_match
I'm not sure which borough you're in so I can't help you with any information about how to register your group!
