What it's all about

Why throw away perfectly usable items when you can pass them on? As students, we have witnessed the waste that goes on at the end of each academic year when residents vacate their halls. Frequently they have no option but to leave behind a wide range of personal belongings consumable goods. We are here to make sure that these items are either recycled or given a new home!

Our plan is to place collection boxes in common areas of student halls in which students can deposit unwanted items instead of throwing them away.

What's needed to make it a reality

We need to establish links with charity shops, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, etc.

We need to liaise with halls of residence and recruit volunteers.

We need to apply for funding for advertising, packaging and transport.

Thank you for all coming in to discuss your idea, it?s going to be a great way of promoting recycling. As we discussed because you are a UCL student you can get access to up to £750 to fund your idea. I'll be in touch soon to see how you're getting on with the objectives and research activities which we put in place at the project planning session.
