What it's all about
I would like to have a range of social activities for people with learning disabilities. I would like to start off with speed dating and invite a range of different groups of people with learning disabilities, followed by a club night
where they could meet up with people they met at speed dating. I would also like to do a coffee morning and quiz night and also see what activities they would like to do. I would like this to be an ongoing project of different events so that friendships can be maintained and developed.
What's needed to make it a reality
I need to speak to people from groups working with people with learning disabilities and get some volunteers, decorations for the events, price up of equipment for club nights, apply for funding and donantions for the coffee morning.

And good luck with it by the way. Report Abuse
This sounds like a brilliant idea, a really positive way of including people with learning difficulties, who are oftern socially excluded.
As you are a student studying at Northumbria University, you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into reality. As you know, this is a specific project running at Northumbria and another 14 unis across the country.
As your Junction49 Uni staff member, I can give you training and support to develop your idea. It would be great to meet up with you and have a chat about developing some of the ideas for your project!
