What it's all about

I'd like to start a simple coffee and tea get together for anyone to come to. I'd like to create an informal, very relaxed and fun environment where students can get to know other students and take part in a few activities which will be provided to help relax students and get them chatting.
I'd also like to run the activity for a small profit so that the proceeds can go to Cancer Research.
The event will be run once or twice a month in a UCL venue, perhaps linked with 'Give it a Go'
Activities include low cost games, eg name games, twister etc.
I hope that students who feel marginalised or who are from overseas or just want to meet some new people will benefit from this facility.

What's needed to make it a reality

Funding for the tea and coffee and snacks would help the project get off the ground as well as a small allowance for advertising and some materials for games.
I'll also need a room.

  • Avatar Nadia Cole 13:51, 29 October 2007 Lucy, this is a brill idea...providing a simple way of providing an informal and relaxed environment for UCL students to meet new people and share ideas and have fun while also enjoying a range of refreshments.
As you are a student studying at UCL University, you can access up to £750 to turn your idea into a reality and I'll contact you shortly to arrange for you to come in and see me again to discuss your application and next steps. As you know, this is a specific project running at UCL and another 14 unis across the country. As your Junction49 Uni staff member, I can give you training and support to develop your idea.
