What it's all about

Exhibition Park is a park that has the potential to be developed in many ways. There is an underpass connecting Brandling Park to Exhibition Park which is where we are initially planning to develop. We are hoping to re-paint the walls a brighter colour, paint a feature on one of the walls and use the boards provided to add some art work.
Further down the line plans are set to maybe introduce sculptures into Exhibition Park as well as replant a deserted flower bed. The main aim of this project is to encourage people into Exhibition Park and increase awarness of its' presence.

What's needed to make it a reality

Paint Brushes/Rollers and other materials
White Spirit
Masking Tape
Dust Sheets/Covers
Paint (Emulsion)
Boards of MDF - Tools for the application of boards.

  • Avatar Samantha 13:27, 08 November 2007 Hiya Kate,

It's great to read about your idea - it's focused on such a neglected area of the city. It would be fantastic to reinvigorate this outdoor space, giving it a new purpose and improving the environment for the local community!

As you know, Junction 49 is working with fifteen universities across the country, and as Northumbria is one of them you can apply for a grant of up to £750 to get your idea off the ground.

I'm working in the student activities centre so feel free to drop in and I can offer you some extra support and guidance for the funding. It will be great to hear from you!
