How it's done

How do you fancy volunteering for half a day with some of our most vulnerable elderly tenants? We want your help to host a Cream Tea Party which will bring together 3 of our sheltered housing schemes. These people are very often isolated and rarely get the chance to meet people from different schemes let alone students from a local university. On the day we thought we could play games, eat cakes and scones, drink tea and socialise with one another. It is guaranteed to be a fun day for all the volunteers who choose to take part and will be a very meaningful activity for the tenants, some of whom have very few family or friends left. Social activities are very important in enhancing the quality of life of our elderly tenants and we want friendly and chatty volunteers to come along and make it happen. If this sounds like something you want to get involved in, get in touch!

  • Nadia Cole  21 Jan 08 16:23,   by Nadia Cole This is UCL's first, but not the last, Junction49 one-off activity. This is a brilliant opportunity to spend a few hours socialising and chatting with the elderly tenants and will be lots of fun. If you are a UCL student and want to volunteer for this event then contact: Petra Wahlqvist at UCL Union Voluntary Services Unit E: p.wahlqvist@ucl.ac.uk
