Sign up and pitch us an idea for a positive community project and be entered to win £1000 in funding to get it off the ground.
How will the entries be judged?
Entries will be judged by Junction49 based on the following criteria:
- Effectiveness – will the project have a measurable positive impact on the local community
- Practicability – is the project practical? Does it address real local needs? Is it achievable on a community level?
- Affordability – is the project budget reasonable? Will the project be achievable with the £1000 prize?
- Civic Engagement – does this project invite the support of the local community? Is there a possibility to partner with other organisations?
- Sustainability – does this project have the potential to be ongoing? Will it survive beyond the initial funding?
- Fun – does the project make you happy just thinking about it?
If my project idea is found to be the best, what do I win?
The top entries, as determined by the Junction49 Judges, will be allocated a mentor chosen by Junction49. The winners will receive an award in the amount of the project budget (up to a maximum of £1000) from Junction49 to fund a project to address a community issue.
How and when will I know if I've won?
Shortlisted entrants will be contacted by Junction49 and asked to submit a description of the project "process" (how will the project be implemented) along with a detailed budget and list of current needs (volunteers, materials, etc).
The winners will be notified by email on or about 31st December 2008 with requests for a mailing address and phone number and must respond to that email within 48 hours
May I submit more than one entry?
Yes, go crazy—Junction49 wants hear all of your best project ideas.
Who is eligible to participate?
You must be between the ages of 16-25
You must be a registered member of Junction49.co.uk (registration takes less than 49 seconds)
You must NOT be a student studying at one of Junction49's partner universities. A list of Junction49's partner universities can be found here, along with information on what Junction49 is offering specifically at these unis.
What Happens to My Idea?
We will be looking for the top projects that are innovative, and achievable, fun and inspirational will have positive impact, and possibly replicated on a large scale. Winning projects will be awarded a grant up to £1000, and assigned an experienced mentor to support the project’s implementation.
Multimedia submissions are encouraged but not required.
